The ATEX Directive defines the technical requirements to be applied to electrical equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Compliance with these rigorous requirements has often been a barrier to installing and using industry standard wireless network products in hazardous areas.

Extronics custom designed explosion proof enclosures and intrinsically safe protection circuits make it possible for a wide range of wireless networking hardware to be utilised within Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas – including access points, routers, WiFi RFID tags, Exciters and Readers from the industry leading manufacturers.
